Research

Pragmatic studies, bedside impact

Research designed to answer questions that matter at the point of care — with transparent methods and practical implications.

Thesis

Serum Uric Acid & the HEART Score in ACS

Objectives

To evaluate the association between admission serum uric acid concentration and the HEART risk score in patients presenting with suspected acute coronary syndrome, and to explore uric acid's incremental discriminative value for 30-day major adverse cardiac events.

Methodology

Prospective observational cohort of consecutive ACS presentations at a tertiary care center. Standardized clinical, ECG, and biomarker data collection with 30-day follow-up.

Implications

If validated, admission uric acid — inexpensive and universally available — may enhance early risk stratification in resource- limited emergency departments.
